I Love To Scrapbook
At least that is what I tell myself. In reality, I love to BUY scrapbook and craft supplies. When it comes to actually sitting down to make a page or do a craft, I draw a big ol’ blank. The creative gene in my family all went to my sister. She is creative, artistic, and empathetic while I’m, well, the opposite of all that. I think I want to scrapbook. I look at all the pretty paper and gazillions of paper crafting supplies and, like an addict, can’t stop myself from buying them. Unlike an addict, I never use them. Pinterest is also an addiction. I have over 1,800 pins mostly related to scrapbook layouts and crafts that never get done. Bottom line, I don’t have a creative bone in my body but, I am not a quitter so I keep buying and pinning. Maybe one day the crafting fairy will hit me over the head with her wand. Until then, it turns out that not being creative is a good thing in my professional life. As an accountant, being creative could change my daily wardrobe from business casual to an orange jumpsuit. However, there are some days that I think life with three meals a day and outdoor exercise (recess?) may be just the vacation I need.
Another clue that I only like to buy scrapbook supplies is this blog. Just last week, I bought about $40 worth of supplies, spent a lot of hours going through my pictures and another $50 to get them printed. What am I doing now while my new supplies are taking up space in my already crowded craft room? I am writing a blog. Makes total sense to me.
